Your Growth Begins With Your Decision
Development is something we have to choose for ourselves. People can encourage us, pray for us, and give us opportunities—but they cannot make us want to grow. We have to decide that our future deserves our effort.
I look at my two daughters as a beautiful example of how differently development can unfold.
My youngest daughter went straight through school, continuing through college and earning her master’s degree.
My oldest daughter’s journey included a pause. She had a baby, worked, and years later decided she wanted to continue her education. She went back and earned her associate degree, then her bachelor’s degree, and then her master’s.
Two different journeys, and I am proud of them both. Each had to make her own decision and put in the work. My oldest daughter’s pause did not close the door on what she could become.

Maybe you are ready to go back to school, learn a new skill, strengthen your relationship with God, take better care of yourself, or become more disciplined with your finances.
Whatever the area, ask yourself: Am I willing to make room for the growth I say I want?
At this stage of my life, I am focused on development in every area. I still have things to learn, habits to improve, and dreams I want to pursue. That means being willing to receive correction, ask for help, and follow through—even when the process feels uncomfortable.
🙏🏽 PRAY UP: ASK GOD FOR DIRECTION
Ask God for direction and an open heart. Be willing to recognize where you need to grow.
Growth begins when we become honest with ourselves about where we are and remain open to where God is leading us.
💪🏽 BUILD UP: PUT ACTION BEHIND YOUR PRAYERS
Read, learn, practice, and surround yourself with people who encourage your growth. Choose one step you can take today.
Praying for growth is important, but we must also be willing to do the work. Every intentional decision and consistent effort can move us closer to the person we are becoming.
👗 DRESS UP: SHOW UP WITH CARE AND CONFIDENCE
Show up with care and confidence as you develop. You are worthy of that care throughout the process.
Give yourself permission to grow at your own pace. Celebrate your progress, learn from your experiences, and remember that investing in yourself is part of becoming the woman you are meant to be.
🌿 GIVE YOURSELF GRACE, THEN DECIDE WHAT COMES NEXT
You may have paused. Your priorities may have changed. You may be starting something you once thought you would have finished by now.
That does not mean you have missed your opportunity.
Your journey is your own, and development does not have an expiration date. What matters is your willingness to keep learning, make intentional decisions, and take action toward the future you want to build.
Make the decision to develop for yourself, for your growth, and for the betterment of your future.
