Running a business is full of twist and turns, and as i reflect on my journey, it often takes me back to my time as a single mother. That deep desire to push through, to succeed despite the odds, is something I felt in my soul. The lessons I learned then continue to shape how I rise above challenges today.
I remember a season in my life when I had to fight hard for my oldest daughter's future. She didn't seem interested in loved to dress up and never wanted to miss a day. One morning, I dropped her off at school in her uniform, only to get a call from her teacher later. The teacher shared her concern about my daughter's grades and mentioned that she wasn't wearing her uniform. Confused, I said, "She wears it every morning!" That's when I learned my daughter was changing into different clothes after I dropped her Off.
I was furious and ready to discipline her in ways my grandmother had to calm me down from. But my anger wasn't just about the uniform-it was the fear. Fear that she wouldn't get the education she needed, fear of her failing in with the wrong crowd or meeting the the wrong guy. Fear of her future slipping away. Those were blurry, overwhelming times, but I didnt give up on her.
Fast forward to today, and that same daughter has earned her master's degree in family therapy. She's an incredible woman, someone I'm so proud of. The challenges back then felt like mountains, but the perseverance paid off.
That same determination is what I'm bringing into my businesses now. I've invested in courses, taken classes, and tried hiring people to help me with marketing and social media. Unfortunately, things didn't work out the way I'd hoped. But just like with my daughter, I refuse to give up.
This is my year of execution. I will find a strategy that works, I will apply more pressure, and I will make it happen. It's time to rise above the blurry challenges, pivot where necessary, and fully commit to the vision I have for my businesses.
if there's one thing my journey has taught me, it's this: challenges are only temporary, and perseverance always pays off. Just like my daughter's transformation, I know the seeds I'm planting in my businesses will grow into something amazing. This year, I'm committed to the process and ready to see the change I've been working toward,
